It can often feel like our streets are dominated by big international chains, with all the buying managed goodness knows where – with mass-produced product, fast fashion and carelessness regarding materials and waste. This list shows what a vibrant shopping sector we have, with inventive, dynamic entrepreneurs, artisan makers and owner-buyer-managers. It’s not an easy career path, and we celebrate them all.
